“What’s in your Jell-O?”
Filed Under Happy Valley Movie |
Tonight is opening night here in Utah of a film that I’ve been hearing about, called “Happy Valley”. It is a real-life true story of the huge problem of drug addiction in Utah County - a story that will hopefully help people confront the problem in thier own lives or those around them.
I’m going to see it tonight, so I can’t say yet if it’s a good movie or not, but any movie that attempts to take on this problem head on, will undoubtedly have something positive to offer. I’m writing this post to get the word out about this movie, and to encourage everyone to go see it. Because the reality is, the vast majority of us know someone who struggles or has struggled with drug addiction. We can all learn something from it to help people in the future.

Hi;
I was just speaking to a friend who lives in Orem Ut. I am a Registered Nurse, and my family and I lived in Utah 1 year ago. We returned back home to San Diego, Ca. recently. Anyways my friend just called me to tell me about the movie (Whats in your jello) I think it is fabulous! Her and her husband are going tomorrow evening, and she is going to call me with a full report. I honestly must say, in all my years of Nursing, I saw alot of addiction in Utah, mostly perscription drugs!! As well as Meth. I was very troubled by this, yet of course realize, addiction affects mostly all families in one respect (directly) or another (indirectly). I am grateful to anyone who would put any effort into making and putting out of this movie. I believe it will be extremely instrumental, in opening the eyes of many. I am also hopeful that many closets will also be opened. Once attiction is realized, and the admittance of powerlessless over any addiction then the healing can begin. Recovery from addiction is a gift. And all those seeking a life free from addiction need much support, love. AA as well as NA is available their. Look up Alcoholics Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous in the yellow pages, and just pick up the phone, and God will do the rest! If one is willing. The Mormons tend to hide things under the rug, due to shame I believe. (which is completely UnGodly) So I do applaud the persons responsible for creating this film. I do hope I have the opportunity to view it. Although I dont know if it will be coming to San Diego, Ca. Or just limited to Utah. Any imput would be appreciated. Take care of you! God Bless You and your family!

The Happy Valley website says that the movie is ‘on the verge’ of going national, so if it happens, I’m sure San Diego would be one of the first markets to get it.
I do hope you get the chance to see it, as it sounds like you had a lot of experience with this subject while you were here.
Thanks for stopping by!
